The Pathology National Clinical Network aims to improve access to high quality laboratory services across Aotearoa New Zealand.
About the Pathology National Clinical Network
Pathology and laboratory services are needed at all levels of care, making them an important part of healthcare. Around 70% of diagnoses come from pathology and laboratory services. These services are essential for:
- disease screening for risk factors
- determination of disease severity
- recovery likelihood
- treatment path
- monitoring and investigation of adverse outcomes
- detecting hospital-acquired infections and antimicrobial resistance
- managing infectious disease outbreaks and toxic exposures.
