The scope of women's health services is broad. Services are provided in primary care through healthcare providers such as:

  • GP's
  • nurse practitioners
  • midwives
  • physiotherapists.

Services are provided in secondary care by:

  • obstetrics and gynaecology services
  • urogynaecology services
  • gynaecology oncologist services.

Services include

The services include assessment and care for:

  • abnormal uterine bleeding and menstrual disorders including menorrhagia, dysmenorrhoea, metrorrhagia
  • pelvic organ prolapse
  • reproductive health including contraception, family planning, fertility services
  • cancer screening and treatment
  • cervical, endometrial, ovarian and vulvo-vaginal abnormalities
  • maternal care, including urgent care and mental health support
  • specific conditions such as endometriosis, pelvic pain, dyspareunia, urinary incontinence and other urogynaecology.
